FACILITIES MANAGER

The Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Facilities Manager position.

 

The position requires a highly skilled individual with the ability to plan and coordinate the physical operations of the Airport Authority owned buildings; including the electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and heating systems. This position is subject to 24-hour call.


The Facility Manager duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervising and coordinating a staff of skilled, experienced and/or entry level workers performing building repair and maintenance duties for three airports and a storage facility. The Facilities Manager ensures that all buildings and grounds are kept

in a clean and orderly condition. The Facilities Manager coordinates the daily maintenance schedule in a flexible manner to accommodate maintenance priorities along with efficient operation. Employee monitors and approves maintenance and installation work, including

the work performed by outside contractors, and may recommend modifications. The Facilities Manager also orders replacement parts, supplies and stock for maintenance of the airports, provides input for budget preparation, coordinates with the Chief Executive Officer concerning Facilities Staff, maintenance projects and any other airport related maintenance, is responsible for time cards for the Facilities Staff, performs maintenance checks on airport buildings on a routine basis to ensure that preventative maintenance is being performed, and performs other related work as required.


Employee is expected to be able to operate safely and maintain all the equipment associated with the above tasks including power tools, edger, blower, mower, paint sprayer, high pressure cleaner, tractor and back hoe, dump truck, front end loader, lowboy hauling equipment, welder. Employee must also be able to train others in the safe operation of all equipment.


The successful candidate will be a well–rounded individual with a solid ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, strong organizational skills, and will be computer literate. Specifically, the candidate must have experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as Sage/Peachtree Accounting Software, and inventory control software. Furthermore, a thorough knowledge of facilities and lawn maintenance, inventory control, and work production standards for maintenance work in

all trades is essential.


This is an advanced level position requiring a high school diploma or equivalent general education diploma (GED), and at least some college. A minimum of Associates degree is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates that have a journeyman’s certification or license or equivalent in at least one of the following fields: Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC. Candidates must have a

valid Florida Driver’s License without points or history of suspension. Candidates must have a Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one.

FACILITIES TECHNICIAN II/ FLEET MAINTENANCE

The Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Facilities Technician II/Fleet Maintenance position.

 

The position is a skilled labor position. Must have at least 3 years’ experience working as a Facilities Technician I level, or equivalent. Potential candidates must be able to perform a variety of labor-intensive duties in the construction and trade areas such as: Carpentry, Plumbing, Lawn Care, Electrical, Masonry, Painting, Roofing and Paving, Fence Building

and Repair, Mechanical, Heating and Air Conditioning. Performs additional special duties and projects as assigned.


Employee is expected to be able to operate safely and maintain all the equipment

associated with the above tasks including

power tools, edger, blower, mower, paint sprayer, high pressure cleaner, tractor and

back hoe, dump truck, front end loader,

lowboy hauling equipment, welder. Employee

is expected, on occasion, to operate automotive equipment requiring a license and special skills.


In addition to all responsibilities as a Facilities Tech II listed above, special consideration will be given to candidates with an aptitude for more advanced, detailed and difficult work of a mechanical nature, such as ensuring the Titusville - Cocoa Airport Authority’s entire

fleet remains “mission ready” at all times

from a mechanical perspective to include the new/additional equipment and/or vehicles the Airport Authority acquires.
